Burgundy is a photographer’s paradise! As a keen photographer myself, there’s nothing I love more than going out and about with a camera through the vineyards and villages of Burgundy in all seasons, capturing the stunning vineyard landscape, medieval architecture and all the other wonderful things I love about this region, through the lens.

There have been many enthusiastic photographers on my wine tours but we rarely have enough time to stop at all the photogenic spots along the routes, which led me to offer a dedicated wine and photography tour day as a customised private tour for clients. Please don’t hesitate to make contact to book for your own dedicated wine/photography or photography/sightseeing tour day.

Photography & Wine served up by Burgundy on a Plate

I used Sue Boxell as my driver and guide for my first trip to Burgundy, based on recommendations and largely because she worked with me ahead of time to customize a combination photography and wine schedule covering two full days. I'm a semi-professional photographer specializing in landscapes so Sue took all of this in and put together a wonderful package - day one north from Beaune through the Cote de Nuits and day two south through the Cote de Beaune. She picked me up around 9am both days and we didn't finish until 6pm either day. February is certainly not the best time to visit Burgundy, but that's the time that I had and Sue made the most of it. She knows the history, culture and area. I probably covered three or four days of photography and wine tasting in two because Sue knew where, when and how to see the sights as well as getting me into meaningful private tastings with the winemakers themselves. Beyond the tourist trail, Sue took me to sights few tourists ever see. If you're looking for days of run of the mill wine stops, look elsewhere. if you have an open mind to learn and want a tour truly tailored to your needs, then Sue is an excellent choice.

Sue is also the kind of person you feel glad that you met in your travels. Someone who took you to a higher level of understanding in a foreign land.
